Our story began September 11, 2004, when Dale and his siblings were born. I met the litter, and I brought home the two dogs that followed my heart—then the stories of their lives began to unfold into the world I created for them.
I’m the original creator of Don’t Eat Bees!—and Dale was the King of Bees, upright-eared, legendary, and always the truth behind the illustrations (even when I’m working in fiction, I keep the character details faithful to the inspiration). That’s why the franchise became so much more than one book.
Over time, Dale’s story expanded into published comics, appearances in my syndicated comics, defending-our-rights comics, songs, an animation, a game, loose art, plus books and ebooks, and merch. Dale’s story is endless—and I’ll keep creating, page after page.
