Our Mission: Stories, pictures, video, and headline news make our local journalism a window into everyday life.

Welcome to the Rochester Sun Times News!

I’m Lisa Loucks-Christenson, the publisher of the Rochester Sun Times News, an independent news source that is shared online, expanding into print and radio in the near future. For now, we remain an online news source.

Once in print, the newspapers will be available at Peacock Books, and there will be a link to the station when’s ready.

Besides Lisa Loucks-Christenson's work, exhibits, photos, columns, and opinions, the paper also covers her news gathering and storytelling about community members. It offers a space for anonymous opinions through editorials, allowing for the sharing of views without fear of reprisal.

I'm in the process of reviewing resumes from reporters, photographers, columnists, and even poets. However, the task of creating the Rochester Sun Times News currently falls solely on me. Return to find out the latest news.

Publisher: Lisa Loucks-Christenson

As a Rochester, Minnesota native, I am confident in my ability to report on local news. Over the course of 40+ years, I have served the Rochester community in a multitude of ways - as a photo studio, multimedia journalist, host of talk shows, owner of a bookstore and wildlife gallery, provider of answering services, and publisher.  I've won awards for many of books, short stories, photos, illustrations, and poems.

I'm responsible for covering stories, collecting news, conducting interviews, taking photographs, creating comics, sharing recipes from my cookbook imprint, and managing licensing and contracts with other creators and wire services.

My background covers various fields, including publishing, writing, narrating, photography, animation, illustration, wildlife films, children’s books and art, wildlife art, graphic design, investigative reporting, and radio.

My areas of expertise include breaking news, travel, wildlife behavior and crimes, watchdog journalism, human interest stories, history, business, law, crime, food, environment, natural resources, biodiversity, medicine, technology, and more. Enrolling in different courses each month allows me to stay up-to-date on our ever-changing world, report on current events, and raise awareness about various topics.

I've organized a page showcasing the courses I've enrolled in, which include diplomas, professional certificates, certificates of completion, and classes taken in audit mode. I acted based on the belief that knowledge is key in shaping one's desired identity. It's possible that the page will catch the attention of others who, like me, are interested in enrolling in some classes.

Through my Lisa Loucks-Christenson Media Syndicate, I distribute my column, comics, photos, poems, illustrations, and stories to publishers and media organizations around the globe.

Some of my credits published credits include: Esquire, Self, Woman’s World, Disney, IBM, HyVee, Grolier, Harcourt, Travel World International, Trips & Journeys, Christian Schools International, Diversion Magazine, Veterinarian Medicine, HSUS Kind News, Skin, Inc., The Creative Company, Heinemann-Raintree, Ron Schara’s Minnesota Bound, The Big Wild, Senior Times, The Times Plain Dealer, Plainview Times, Post Bulletin, and many more.

Some of my show guests I’ve interviewed for Lisa's Walk The Talk Show and Book Divas with Lisa LC include: Charlie Daniels, Mickey Gilley, Eddie Money, Kathy Ireland, Porter Wagoner, Charlotte Stewart (Miss Beadle from “Little House on the Prairie”), Karolyn Grimes (Zuzu on “It’s a Wonderful Life”), Tom Wilson (Ziggy), Foghat, Bryan White, Aaron Neville, Aaron Tippin, Mike Nawrocki (Veggie Tales), Sheryl Woods, Beverly Swerling, Jean Craighead George, Jim Owen, Bryan White, Foghat, Dick and Dee Dee, Captain and Tennille, and many other talented entertainers.

A few of my professional memberships include the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), North America Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) and other memberships in the media.

When I’m not working on stories for the paper, I’m writing, illustrating storyboards, and writing scripts for short religious films, inspired by Davey and Goliath.

My objective is to produce short films that resonate with viewers of all ages, exploring themes of pets, wildlife, family, friends, and community, and showcasing characters who find triumph through their faith.

My Lisa Loucks-Christenson Films and Carpie Animation Studios are currently developing a stop motion clay animation that integrates my religious beliefs. Rochester, Minnesota, The Great River Road, the blufflands, the Whitewater Valley in Winona County, Olmsted County, and Wabasha County are among the backdrops featured in different episodes.

Rochester Sun Times News Books and Exhibits:

The exhibit and book, Faces of the Pandemic: The First Five Years, along with the Rochester book, Square Eye: 50-Year History of Rochester, Minnesota, are being produced by The Rochester Sun Times, which is a part of Lisa Loucks-Christenson Publishing. Currently, I'm in charge of coordinating the exhibits and contemplating the possibility of screening a short film each evening during the exhibit openings. Peacock Books & Wildlife Art will host the exhibits.
