ROCHESTER, Minn. — Dec. 26, 2026 — Award-winning author and investigative journalist Lisa Loucks-Christenson will release Canario (TM): Stitch Eyes, Book Zero in a new investigative nonfiction series, through Badger Books Publishing on December 26, 2026.

The book follows a Minnesota reporter as she traces a pattern of intimidation, record interference, and cold-case convergence across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and South Dakota. The project began with a symbolic image — a dead sparrow tied on twine with its eyes stitched shut — and developed into a broader documentary investigation into pattern, proof, and the persistence of truth under pressure.

Canario (TM): Stitch Eyes is designed as the opening volume in a larger series. Loucks-Christenson says the project blends investigative reporting, documentary structure, and a strong sense of regional place.
