Lisa Loucks-Christenson Announces TwoFold™ the Spider vs. the Harvestman

A new spider is coming to the comic world.

I am announcing TwoFold™ the Spider vs. the Harvestman, an original fictional investigative-comic project that I created, wrote, illustrated, and will publish through DareWing™ Comics and LisaLCComics.

The first single-panel TwoFold™ comics, introductory comic art, and selected merchandise are expected to begin releasing in September 2026. The first full-length narrative comic is expected in early 2027.

The longer story is planned as a three-comic collection: three connected comic stories gathered into one edition. The final price, page count, format, and edition details will be announced after the production and publication plan is complete.

It’s still me

The opening of TwoFold™ the Spider vs. the Harvestman begins with something simple and essential.

TwoFold™ puts the spider’s name on every brand it creates.

Not to hide.

Not to confuse.

Not to turn into someone else.

But as an act of self-preservation—and as a public statement:

      “It’s still me.”

That is how I have created throughout my career.

My name, Lisa Loucks-Christenson, is connected to my original work. It appears with the books, comic projects, art, articles, films, wildlife work, stories, products, and brands I create.

I do this intentionally.

My brands are not separate people. They are not a disguise. They are not a way to conceal who created the work.

They are names for individual creative worlds, products, reading experiences, projects, and adventures. A brand may identify a particular comic, book line, series, piece of art, product, or story universe. But the creator, original storyteller, comic artist, and publisher behind the work remains Lisa Loucks-Christenson.

Brands do not define TwoFold™.

TwoFold™ creates them.

A new trapline

TwoFold™ the Spider vs. the Harvestman begins with experiences and questions that influenced me personally, including injustices I say I experienced in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Those experiences are not presented as a documentary, court case, or accusation in the comic. Instead, I am transforming the questions, survival, observations, and need for accountability into fiction.

TwoFold™ becomes an investigative spider who travels web to web.

The spider watches.

The spider preserves the record.

The spider notices what does not connect.

The spider follows the missing thread.

The spider keeps creating.

The harvestman is the recurring adversarial force in the series. Each comic may feature a different harvestman, different scenes, different pressures, and sometimes accomplices moving across the web.

A true spider builds a web. The web has structure. Threads connect. A small vibration can reveal that something has crossed its path.

The harvestman moves without that web.

In this fictional world, that becomes a metaphor for the things people encounter when explanations do not match records, when claims arrive without visible proof, when public or private systems feel impossible to navigate, or when someone is told to stop asking questions.

Justice, injustice, and America’s webs

This comic is not only about copyright or intellectual property.

Creative work, authorship, brands, reputation, and original art will be important themes because they are part of a creator’s life and livelihood. But TwoFold™ is larger than that.

The comic will explore the justices and injustices of living in America—and living on webs that reach across multiple states.

Those webs may include:

• Creative webs, where people protect the work they make.

• Family webs, where people look after those they love.

• Business webs, where reputation and livelihood can depend on a name.

• Community webs, where people rely on each other.

• Legal and public-system webs, where records, notice, process, and accountability matter.

• Digital webs, where stories, images, names, and claims travel quickly.

• Faith webs, where people rebuild after pressure, loss, or injustice.

Some TwoFold™ stories will be a single panel—a sharp observation, a moment of humor, a warning, a truth, or a question.

Other stories will need a larger web. They will have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Sometimes they will end with a cliffhanger that carries into another comic.

That is what comics can do so well: allow a single image to speak, while also making room for a larger visual narrative to unfold through panels, scenes, setting, dialogue, and silence. Comics use words and images in sequence to tell stories and can carry several layers of meaning at once.

Harvestman-resistant webs

The heart of TwoFold™ is not revenge.

It is not fear.

It is not silence.

It is the belief that people can learn to build stronger, harvestman-resistant webs around their lives and livelihoods.

A harvestman-resistant web is built from things that are not always glamorous:

• Keeping original records.

• Saving receipts.

• Preserving photographs and original creative files.

• Documenting dates and timelines.

• Paying attention to names, notices, and details.

• Asking for explanations in writing.

• Knowing who created the work.

• Protecting one’s reputation.

• Learning from hard experiences.

• Continuing to create after someone tries to tear a web down.

Sometimes people are pressured to believe that truth belongs only to those who can afford the most expensive legal teams.

I do not believe that.

The central promise of TwoFold™ is this:

Truth is always free.

It may be difficult to locate. It may be buried under paperwork, pressure, rumors, missing threads, or expensive barriers. But people can still look. They can document. They can create. They can ask questions. They can rebuild.

That is TwoFold™’s message.

That is TwoFold™’s heart.

That is TwoFold™’s faith.

The spider is still watching.

And the first web is coming soon.
