Falling for Landrake the Angel was her first royal mistake...

By Lord Kendal Terryington

Prepare yourself for an enchanting journey as I tell you a fictional story centered on the forbidden love shared between Lillian, a princess, and Landrake, an angel.

Chapter 1

Lankdrake’s voice quivered as he pleaded with Lillian to leave right away, knowing the Elders of the Moss Forest, a secret society in the city of Daventry, had dispatched their soldiers, like metal men without hearts. The knights suited for the task. They appeared almost mechanical with shields that hid what could only be akin to unblinking eyes, searched throughout the city in search of her scent.

Luinn, Lillian’s brother, filled with desperation, stepped out of his den in his mountain home, his instincts knotted his stomach like they always did when they were correct. He couldn’t dismiss the gravity of his sisters’ and Landrake’s mistake, and now, written her a death sentence.

The tightness and growing pain in his heart, was tearing with the knowledge that everything was coming to an end.

Knowing that bond since they grew into healthy babies in their mother’s womb, that knowingness that had signaled warnings and blessing throughout their 22-years of life. He also knew, like Landrake’s knew, that without her, both of their worlds would crumble into darkness.

When Landrake appeared at his door early in the morning, he didn’t even have to speak. A shot of remorse served chilled at sunrise—said it all in his gaze.

Landrake lingered before stepping inside the cabin. Lillan peered from behind him. Her innocent face stared back at Luinn. They had been on the run all night.

Landrake’s hand trembled as he reached for his sister's hand, watching her eyes drop a single tear escaped down her face. Landrake reached into his waistcoat and pulled out the pieces of the torn up the contract. Unaware, the order was non-negotiable. He tore it up, but knew he could not stop the harm coming over her, like a wisp of broken souls with hands that fold together, but had no protection or hold.

Their voices quivered with fear as they huddled together, desperately piecing together the sinister plot against Lillian’s life.

As Lillian read the document, terror widened her eyes, freezing her body as she realized that a sinister plot had unveiled, jeopardizing the fragile peace between royalty and angels.
